Just in time for the start of the new academic year Alexandra Palace Garden Centre, which is owned by the Capital Gardens Group has joined forces with St Michael's School in Highgate to launch a weekend club which aims to inspire children from the ages of four to ten, through fun educational gardening activities.
Samuel Dontoh the Marketing Manager for the Capital Gardens Group says "Children enjoy gardening, and love getting their hands dirty, we want to tap into that enthusiasm, to educate, stimulate and inspire them through gardening. The aim of our Young Gardeners Club is ensure that every child has an opportunity to learn about plants and gardening irrespective of whether they have access to a garden at home or not. As a company we are avid supporters of the 'Grow Your Own' initiative, however we are focussing our efforts on young children because the future of gardening lay in their hands".
The Young Gardeners Club will be held twice monthly and starts on Saturday 15 September from 9:30am to 11:30am at St Michael's School in Highgate.
With a one year membership fee set at an amazing £20, the club will be accessible to parents of all incomes.
