Parents in Mind at Mind in Haringey
Organisation type: Voluntary or Community Sector
Parents in Mind is a newly-recomissioned Peer Support group for parents/carers of children (aged 10-18) living in Haringey. We launch our first Peer Support group on the 31 October 2017, and will be extending this service into 2 groups by the end of 2017. One will be a day-time group that will intially be based at Mind in Haringey, and will eventually move to a community setting. The other group will held in the evenings on a regular basis at Mind in Haringey. Funded by CAHMS in Haringey, we support for 12 months for parents of children experiencing mental-health difficulities and/or emotional needs. This support includes learning more about your child's mental-health difficulties and/or emotional needs, and meeting other parents/carers in similar situations.
Qualifying parents/carers can refer themselves by filling out a self-registeration form located on the Parents in Mind page on Mind in Haringey's website at:www.mindinharingey.org.uk (or by emailing Kate Allen, Project Worker at email@example.com). Professionals are welcome to fill out self-registration forms on parents/carers behalf, but must gain verbal/written consent from the attendee, and make this clear on the self-registration form. Groups will be held in English, however, if you would like to bring your own translator, please gain consent from Kate Allen (Parents in Mind Project Worker) before attending a group.
