- Where friendships thrive and children learn to discover a world of possibilities.Welcome to our school where children, staff, parents and governors enjoy working in a positive, supportive and happy community; where everyone is encouraged to respect one another; and where children are provided the best opportunities to achieve more than they ever thought possible.
Creativity is an important aspect of the curriculum at Tetherdown Primary School, so it was no surprise that one project – a large artwork made from an assortment of fabrics and tapestry collages – was no challenge for the school.
During a whole school Art Week themed around community and British values, all the children across the age ranges were able to create an aspect of the collage, including buses, trees, people, woodland animals and landmarks such as St James’ Church, Alexandra Palace, and of course the Tetherdown Edwardian school building.
It was then meticulously put together by one of the parents, and talented local artist, Emma Franks. Together with volunteer parent helpers armed with sewing machines and an abundance of haberdashery, the stunning tapestry was completed in six weeks!
Great job, everyone!
