What is Early Help?
Early Help means all of the services – internal, external, voluntary and community based – that enable families to achieve sustainable, positive outcomes, become more resilient, and prevent the escalation of their needs.
Haringey’s Early Help Localities Team and Targeted Response Team are integral to the delivery of Haringey’s multi-agency early help offer. They provide direct and practical support to families facing multiple and/ or complex issues, to address needs at an earlier stage and prevent issues from escalating.
Early Help Locality Teams
Three teams based across the borough provide flexible, hands on support and interventions to families, children and young people with additional needs. This service is led in each of three areas by a Locality Service Manager, whose role it is to work with local networks to promote and embed integrated, whole family working supported by the use of early help assessments and plans. This operating structure adds value to and collaborates with existing early help provision in children’s centres, schools and other universal settings.
The service also has a dedicated youth team delivering activities and interventions provision at Bruce Grove and other sites, including specific responses to the needs of young carers. This team works closely with the Targeted Response and Youth Justice Service and schools to support delivery of Haringey's youth strategy.
