  1. Carers' Coffee Morning

This carers' support group is open to all carers and entirely run by amazing volunteers. It is made possible by voluntary donations and the generosity of Abide Church, and a small grant from Haringey Council.  From 7 October 2021 we return to Abide church hall where we offer a lovely safe space with good coffee and home-made cakes, newspapers and fresh flowers.

This is a weekly respite morning where carers can enjoy talking amongst themselves and supporting each other. We have been running for nearly ten years now. We hold several events including pamper mornings, coach trips to the seaside, lunch at Highgate tennis club, poetry, parties, and other events.  Sometimes carers bring their disabled family members. Everyone is very friendly and welcoming.

We also recognise that carers needs are often unheard and unmet, so Haringey councillors and sometimes even our MPs David Lammy and Catherine West come along to hold a surgery. Carers can talk to them in confidence.

Outreach worker, Sonja Stevenson, from Islington's Centre 404 and SASH ('Save our Autism and learning disability services in Haringey') and other carers' charity representatives regularly attend. We have a dedicated Employabilty Adviser.

Everyone is welcome to pop in and meet us. There is no referral form.

    Come along and join us!

    Every Thursday 11am - 1pm

(Note: the entrance to the hall is now wheelchair friendly)
